Hi Terry,

Just a few words from an arch nemises of yours in times gone by. Manys a time we fought against each other in club events and with each other in international events.
I can still remember your unique flamboyant style (hard as nails! during our many contests.
It much be a privilage for you to hear from a person who taught you so much after a long time!
I always knew you admired me, you even joined our club to fight in an event in Crystal Palace one time, I still have pictures, you traitor !
I hope you are keeping well, its looks to me your pictures in this site show you couldnt beat snow of a rope !
Seriously, I think of times in karate in Derry and all the characters in karate at that time.
I hope you agree the sport can offer someone a lot of lessons in life if they are prepared to learn.
I hopeyou get this message, all the best

Well done to all UKC competitors in the UKF Open Tournament last weekend in Donegal. Many trophies were won and many 'personal bests' were achieved.

Hi Terry,
Lost your email address so decided to "post" you on the website.

FEKO is about to re-join the WKC, and after all of the rubbish that has come about from the likes of the WKF Ex Com members, about time too don't you think!

Look forward to seeing you again to share a gargle or two old mate!

Kind Regards,

Brian Philcox

Hi.
Just wondering , I used to do karate almost 20 years ago and still rem some basics and the manguage etc. I am wanting to start back again and have set a goal of reaching shodan by 2010. Is this a bit ambitous or is it acheivable? If i do every grading possible and pass is it actually possible. Many thanx

Alan with proper training and application everything is possible.

North West Open Karate Championships Killygorden
Well done to all members and parents and friends from the SKU who did an outstanding job of preparing the venue for the NW Open on Saturday 14 April. Well done also to the host club, North West SKU, for investing almost 8K in new tatami mats, they are without doubt the best mats held by any group within UKC, I would urge other clubs to invest in these particular ones made by Pavigym, contact Carol or Mandy for the details.
Congtatulations to all those who took part and well done done to those who won medals on the day.
Thanks again to all the hard working officials and Tournament assistants without whom the events would not take place.
We look forward to the North of Ireland Open later this year.

I have had my club in the UKC for a few years. I echo the views of the present Chairman and think it is great to give everyone opportunity at all levels in karate. Certainly my club now has about 7 kids who regulary represent NI and at least 3 adults who have as well.
We have learned a lot, made many new friends across the world and thougherly enjoyed ourselves.
Well done to all involved and keep up the great work throughout the UKC !
